There are numerous activities each month to participate in. Remember you can attend any, all or no events based on your own schedule and interests. Children are welcome to all meetings and activities, including the Business Meetings.
Here is a general list of activities held by our chapter throughout the month. The actual activities vary each month, but this should give you an idea of what we do! Activities and meetings, with the exception of Mom's Night Out, are held during the day and CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
Currently, we have the following activities:
Book Club: We choose a book for the month and then meet to talk about the book and socialize. Children of all ages are welcome when accompanying mommies to the Book Club.
Business Meeting: The MOMS Club® meets once each month to vote on club related issues, introduce new members, and discuss upcoming events and projects. Children are always welcome, as are prospective members. We also have committee speakers and/or craft projects at this event. Potential new members are encouraged to attend one general meeting before signing up with the club and can send an email to [email protected] for further information.
JUMP (Just Us Moms Playgroup): Moms get together to hang out once a month kid free. This can be breakfast, lunch, a mani/pedi, etc.
Craft Day: This is a chance for the kids to make something that corresponds with any holiday coming up or anything cute that is easy and fun for the kids.
Family Outings: This is a chance for Dads to tag along. A few things we have done in the past are go eat Pizza and play miniature golf. A few times during the year, we like to get our families together for a special event such as a BBQ or Potluck Picnic.
Craft Club: This is a chance for the crafty moms to get together monthly and have some fun creating fun crafts together. Children of all ages are welcome when accompanying mommies to the Craft Club.
Local Outings: Moms get together to visit local attractions. See Calendar for examples.
Lunch Bunch: Lunch dates occur once or twice a month and give both moms and their kids a chance to get out of the house. Moms might decide to meet up inside a shopping mall play area and then go and grab a bite to eat, or they might meet up at a local restaurant. These lunch dates are always at kid-friendly places.
Mom’s Night Out: Leave your kids behind with your husband or get a babysitter for the night. During this time, moms are given the opportunity to join together and mingle with other moms without their kids. Some past events have included attending a comedy club, pottery painting, eating out, bowling, manicure/pedicure spa, and game night. It's a great way for moms to relax and pamper themselves. Please remember that while MOMS Night Out is typically an event for mom and most members do not take their children; children are welcome at all MOMS Club activities.
Park Day: Once a month, we schedule a park day for our members. We meet at various parks within the area to give the kids a chance to play with each other and enjoy the fine weather. During the hot summer months, pool days and indoor activities are held instead of park days.
Parties: These are to simply have fun or to celebrate seasonal holidays. Parties are usually held at a member’s home/park and are pot-luck and/or require a small donation. Parties often consist of activities, crafts, lunch and lots of play time.
Playgroups: Playgroups are one of the top reasons members join the club. Our playgroups meet once a week either at a member's house, a local park, museum, or zoo. Playgroups are grouped according to age. This is a great time for babies to have fun with babies, little tots to mingle with little tots, and for moms to interact with other moms. Everyone's happy. If you are interested in joining a playgroup, contact our playgroup coordinator.
Service Project: As a chapter of the International MOMS Club®, we are chartered to complete at least one charitable, humanitarian or social welfare project related to children each year. Specifically, the MOMS Club® League City West / Dickinson West, Texas members vote each year on the Service Project.
